Is a lifelong music educator dedicated to excellence in teaching, Wallace Ayotte holds BME and MMA degrees in music education and music supervision from Central Michigan University and completed graduate studies at James Madison University, where he served as a marching band graduate assistant.
During his 18 years with Flushing Community Schools, his ensembles earned consistent First Division ratings, and the Raider Marching Band won three Michigan state titles, five Bands of America regional championships, and was a three-time Grand National Finalist.
He was named MSBOA District 3 Teacher of the Year and inducted into the MCBA Hall of Fame.
Mr. Ayotte has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Robert Shaw Chamber Choir, and the Detroit Opera Chorus, and was a chamber choir full scholarship recipient at the Aspen Summer Music Festival.
Before retiring from Walled Lake Schools, he served as Director at Western High School, MS brass specialist and Instrumental Music Department Chair.
After retiring he joined the Marshall Music Company as a recruitment specialist, supporting school music programs throughout the state.
Today he enjoys traveling, gardening, camping, and maintaining his 1967 Volkswagen Microbus.
